Chennai, Sep 24 - Two-wheeler maker TVS Motor, armed with last week's Supreme Court order allowing it to sell its 125-cc 'Flame' model with twin spark plugs, will start production as soon as it gets the necessary clearance.
According to a company official, all vehicle manufacturers have to undergo the process of re-certification when reintroducing a model that had earlier been taken off the market.
TVS Motor is locked in a legal tussle over the use of twin spark plugs technology in the Flame model, which rival Bajaj Auto had claimed as infringing on its patent.
TVS Motor in a statement said it would take steps to obtain all necessary certifications required under law before commencing sales of twin spark plug model. However, the company did not disclose the number of Flame models it would roll out.
