Kurukshetra (Haryana), July 18 - As the country prepares to watch the July 22 solar eclipse, the Kurukshetra district administration in Haryana has announced that nearly one million pilgrims who come to the Brahmsarovar (pond of Lord Brahma) here for a holy dip would be provided insurance cover.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Narinder Singh said Saturday that the solar eclipse is expected to take place early Wednesday morning and thousands of devotees are expected to arrive here by Tuesday.
The insurance will cover the devotees against any mishap.
He said that the state government had made adequate arrangements for the rush of pilgrims expected during the solar eclipse.
About 300 buses of Haryana Roadways would ply on different routes to bring pilgrims to this town, 110 km from Chandigarh.
