New Delhi, Sep 15 - His train journey from Ludhiana marred by an incident of stone throwing, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi reached the national capital Tuesday night without any other untoward incident.
The Congress leader, travelling by the Swarn Shatabdi Express, alighted at the New Delhi Railway Station at around 11.20 p.m. He was surrounded by security personnel and media persons.
Wearing a white kurta pyjama, Gandhi looked unfazed by the stone throwing incident that took place at around 9.45 p.m. when the train was passing near Gharounda town in Haryana.
'It is very unfortunate, it (stone throwing) should not happened,' said a woman passenger to reporters.
Another passenger echoed the sentiment, saying: 'Yes, this should not have happened.'
The stoning took place between Karnal and Panipat stations in Haryana around 9.45 p.m.
Passengers travelling on the train said that coaches C-2, C-4 and C-7 were hit in the stone attack.
