'We had received complaints against certain family members and right now we are trying to ascertain their authenticity,' stated Rao.
The bodies were found by the retired teacher, who lived nearby, when no one came to give him his morning tea. The village is about 20 km from here.
The victims included the teacher's son, two daughters-in-law and four grandchildren. Another son of the teacher is in the army and was away when the incident occurred.
Rohtak is the home district of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. It is represented in Lok Sabha by his son Deepinder Singh Hooda.
