Kolkata, Sep 8 - Churchill Brothers reached the 114th IFA Shield football tournament final with a 4-2 win over Air India in a tie-breaker here Tuesday.

The first competitive game at the newly-laid synthetic turf of the Salt Lake Stadium saw the two teams finish 1-1 at regulation time.

The semi-final rolled into the tie-breaker after half an hour of extra time failed to break the deadlock.

Kalu Ogba, Naveen Sudhakaran, Gourmangi Singh and Nasimento Silveiira convertd the set-pieces for the winners, while Harpreet Singh and Vijith Shetty were on target for the airmen.

Belying reservations expressed in some quarters about the turf, it played well and despite the blinding rains the bounce was perfect.

Air India drew first blood as early as the 13th minute, as Churchill's Rowilson Rodirigues put the ball into his own goal in attempting to cut out a Soccor Velho grounder.
