Bhopal, Sep 3 - Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Thursday expressed profound grief over the untimely demise of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S.Rajashekhar Reddy, who was killed in a helicopter crash Wednesday.
The country, including Andhra Pradesh, has lost an able administrator and a charismatic politician, Chouhan said in his message.
Reddy's services as a MP, legislator and chief minister of Andhra Pradesh would always be remembered, Chouhan said, adding he prayed that the almighty grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the members of the grief-stricken family to bear the loss.
Madhya Pradesh has declared a two-day state mourning as a mark of respect to YSR.
'During the period of state mourning, the national flag will be flown at half mast throughout the state,' an official statement said. Also, there will be no official functions and entertainment during the period, it added.
