New Delhi, Sep 1 - Hyundai Motor India, the country's second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter, Tuesday reported a growth of 10.7 percent in sales in August.
The company sold 49,521 vehicle last month as against 44,710 units sold in August last year, it said in a statement.
Hyundai's domestic sales stood at 24,401 units as against 21,610 units in the like month last year, reflecting a growth of 12.9 percent, while the overseas sales grew from 23,100 units to 25,120 units, an increase of 8.7 percent.
'Over the last two months, we have registered steady growth figures and in August, the domestic market sales have been strong,' said senior marketing and sales vice president Arvind Saxena.
'We are now entering the festival season, and we expect it to be much better than the previous year,' he added.
