Bangalore, Aug 31 - The cream of Indian golfers, including Mukesh Kumar, Digvijay Singh, Rahil Gangjee, Harmeet Kahlon and Shamim Khan, will be seen in action in the Global Green Bangalore Open 2009, a 72-hole strokeplay event, to be held here Sep 2-5.
The tournament will have a total purse of Rs.30 lakhs. The winner will receive Rs.4.8 lakhs.
The venue, the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA), is considered a challenge for golfers with the strategically located hazards and lightening fast greens.
In 2007, the course was further upgraded to a championship course, a Par 72 with 7227 yards.
Padamjit Sandhu, director of Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), said: 'The Global Green Bangalore Open is now an established event on the AIRCEL-PGTI, and is keenly awaited by our players.'
