Chennai, Aug 28 - The Tamil Nadu Combined Districts XI is poised to win the Buchi Babu cricket tournament after dismissing Hyderabad for just 154 and then scoring 49 for no loss at stumps on the first day of the two-day final here Friday.
Off-spinner S.Suresh Kumar rattled the Hyderabad batting line-up, claiming six for 35 in 24.4 overs.
In reply, Districts' KB Arun Karthik, who has been in fine touch, cracked an unbeaten 41 off 39 balls to put his side within sight of an easy victory Saturday.
Hyderabad lost the plot in the first hour itself when their top batsmen, T.Suman and A.T. Rayudu, were dismissed with just nine runs on the board.
Thereafter, it was a virtual procession, though Abhinav Kumar (30) offered some resistance.
