New Delhi, Aug 28 - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has summoned former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje to Delhi to meet senior party leader M. Venkaiah Naidu Aug 31 and submit her resignation from the post of leader of opposition in the state assembly.
'She (Raje) has been asked to come to Delhi to meet Naiduji and submit her resignation,' a party source told IANS on condition of anonymity for he is not entitled to speak to the media.
The leadership has asked former BJP president Naidu to deal with the crisis in Rajasthan.
The Rajasthan unit of the party was plunged into crisis after Raje refused to step down on the directive of BJP chief Rajnath Singh in the wake of the BJP's debacle in the Lok Sabha elections in the state.
The BJP's tally of 21 seats out of the total 25 in the state came down to four in the April-May elections, while it lost power in the assembly elections late last year, paving the way for the Congress's return in the state.
