Bhopal, Aug 28 - A film city is to be set up in this Madhya Pradesh capital on a sprawling 430-acre plot of land, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said.
Chouhan made the announcement Thursday while addressing film producers, directors and artists of the film industry at an 'Industry Interactive Session and Entertainment Industry Park' in Mumbai.
He said the state government was also planning to open an Acting Training Institute in the state.
Meanwhile, a statement Friday said adequate facilities would be provided to film makers for highlighting the natural beauty, archaeological grandeur of Madhya Pradesh and promoting tourism in the state.
Also, it said an exemption of 50 percent in entertainment tax would be granted to films shot in Madhya Pradesh.
Prominent film artists and directors like Prakash Jha, Mukesh Tiwari, Sudhir Mishra, Raza Murad, Nitish Bhradwaj, Roomi Jafari, Vinod Tiwari, Bonnie Kapoor, Shankar Dutta and Mahesh Rangnathan expressed happiness over the special initiatives taken by the state government, the statement added.
