New Delhi, Aug 27 - In a daring daylight robbery, two motorcycle-borne men snatched a bag said to contain gold jewellery worth Rs 4.2 million, police said Thursday.
Pradeep Kumar Bedi, a jewellery supplier, had just stepped out of his house in Rajouri Garden area of west Delhi at around 3 p.m. with a bag containing gold jewellery worth Rs 4.2 million, when two men on a motorcycle snatched the bag and fled, a police officer said.
Bedi, who runs his business from his house, called the police and informed them of the incident.
'The victim told us that he was going to deliver the jewellery at a shop in a nearby area. He was just approaching his car parked outside the house when the incident took place,' the police officer added.
'It seems that the robbers were aware of Bedi's movements and were just waiting for him to come out. Probably someone provided them a tip off. We are looking at all possible angles,' the police officer said.
