New Delhi, Aug 27 - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat here late Thursday evening in the wake of the crisis gripping the party.
Singh held a one-on-one with Bhagwat at the RSS headquarters, reportedly to discuss the crisis in the party, sources said.
The RSS is the ideological parent of the BJP.
Bhagwat, who is to address a press conference here Friday, had on Aug 18 called for an end to the factionalism in the BJP and said the party leadership should make way for younger leaders.
The BJP expelled its senior leader Jaswant Singh last week for his controversial book 'Jinnah: India-Partition Independence', in which he praised Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.
The party's move has been criticised by BJP leaders Arun Shourie and Yashwant Sinha.
