Mumbai, Aug 27 - Indian equities were trading in the green Thursday afternoon with a key index ruling 46 points higher than its previous close.
At 2.20 p.m., the 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened lower on weak Asian cues at 15,711.8 points, was trading at 15,815.75 points, up 45.90 points or 0.29 percent.
The broader-based Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also ruling in the green at 4696.45 points, up 0.33 percent.
Broader market indices were also in the positive terrain, with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.55 percent higher and the BSE smallcap index up 0.92 percent.
