New Delhi, Aug 26 - Delhi government is planning flyovers atop trees - or that is at least the impression they want to create - as they look to provide a 'pleasant green view below the flyovers' keeping the 2010 Commonwealth Games in mind.

The 'soothing scenario' will give an impression that 'these flyovers are situated over top of trees,' an official statement said.

'The pillars below the flyovers would be extensively covered with greenery that one would believe that flyovers have been built over trees,' the statement said.

'The columns of the flyovers and bridges would depict complete green covering by natural plantation. Apart from this, greenery will be developed on both sides of the carriageway over the flyovers,' the statement added.

A presentation was made before Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit at the Delhi Secretariat here Wednesday.
