Srinagar, Aug 25 - A top guerrilla commander, who gave police the slip before he could be re-arrested on other terror charges following his release by a local court last week, has been arrested, police said here late Tuesday.
Nisar Ahmad alias Gazi Misbahuddin, the former chief commander (operations) of the Hizbul Mujahideen militant group, was set free by a south Kashmir court last Wednesday. He was to be re-arrested for other charges pending against him but he disappeared, the police said.
'After a massive man hunt in different areas of south Kashmir, Gazi Misbahuddin, the former chief commander (operations) of Hizbul Mujahideen, was arrested by us,' a senior police officer said here.
