Chennai, Aug 25 - A fighting 97 by Ambati Rayudu propped up Hyderabad innings against Karnataka in the semi-final of the All-India cricket tournament for the Buchi Babu Trophy here Tuesday.
Rayudu (164b, 6x4, 1x6) was involved in a 98-run partnership for the third wicket with Benjamin Thomas (47) as Hyderabad were all out for 247. In reply, Karnataka were eight without loss at stumps.
In the other semi-final, Dipak Sharma scored 101 (154b, 11x4, 1x6) and his fourth-wicket partnership with Abijit Singa Roy (96, 254b, 6x4, 1x6), rescued Assam after a disastrous start when they lost three wickets for 14 runs against Tamil Nadu Combined Districts XI.
Assam were eventually all out for 276 in 87.5 overs when the stumps were drawn.
