New Delhi, Aug 25 - The government Tuesday decided to look into the issue of Jet Airways pilots threatening to go on an indefinite strike from Sep 7 midnight in protest against the sacking of two senior colleagues.
The Regional Labour Commissioner (Central Region) will look into the matter, said a government official.
Earlier in the day, private carrier Jet Airways said the decision of its newly constituted pilots' union, the National Aviators Guild, to go on indefinite strike was illegal.
'As a responsible corporate body, Jet Airways assures its guests that appropriate action will be taken to ensure that there is no disruption in its operations, and that no inconvenience is caused to passengers,' the airlines said in a statement Tuesday.
