New Delhi, Aug 25 - Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh Tuesday invited expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jaswant Singh to join his party and continue in active politics.
'I find myself closer to the ideology of Jaswant Singhji. I have spoken to him and very candidly told him that you are not alone....I am too small to invite him in my party.... but it will be my fortune if I can do something for him to be in active politics through the platform of Samajwadi party,' Amar Singh told Times Now news channel.
He added: 'He has been very nice, warm and cordial to me all this while in spite of us being in different parties with different ideologies. He said right now your priority should be health, you get well and then we will sit.' Singh added.
Amar Singh is convalescing after a kidney transplant surgery in Singapore.
Jaswant Singh, who was ministers for external affairs, defence and finance in the BJP-led governments, was expelled from the BJP last week for his book 'Jinnah - India, Partition, Independence', in which he has praised Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, and criticised India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and first home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
