Ranchi, Aug 24 - A case has been filed against 11 people, including government officials, for embezzling funds meant for the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Jharkhand's Jamshedpur district, an official said Monday.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against 11 people including Block Development Officer (BDO) Bipin Oraon, three junior engineers, two assistant engineers and middlemen at Potka police station in Jamshedpur city.
A probe, ordered in March, found them guilty of withdrawing Rs 21.60 lakh (Rs.2,160,000) from the government treasury for the purpose of the NREGA works but pocketing the money themselves.
