Chandigarh, Aug 23 - Two more people tested positive for swine flu Sunday, taking the total of infected people in the union territory to 10, officials said.
According to the health officials, the samples of a 38-year-old woman and her 40-year-old relative who were quarantined in their homes, tested positive Sunday.
'The woman, who is a resident of neighbouring Panchkula town, works in the publication department of PGIMER (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research). She had gone on a trip to Hyderabad a few days ago and was showing symptoms of high fever and sore throat,' H.C. Gera, Chandigarh's nodal officer for swine flu, told IANS.
The woman's relative contracted the infection from her.
So far, nearly 120 suspected cases of swine flu have been reported in Chandigarh, of whom 10 have turned out to be positive. No fatality from the virus has been reported from the region.
Doctors in Chandigarh are getting test reports on the same day as a test facility was started at the virology department at the PGIMER here Wednesday.
