New Delhi, Aug 20 - The national capital has recorded its first swine flu deaths with a 31-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman succumbing to the viral infection, hospital authorities said Thursday.
Samrat Pandaya, 31, a resident of Gurgaon, died Thursday, four days after he was rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi. He had been kept on a ventilator and his heart and lungs stopped working, said N.K. Chaturvedi, the hospital's medical superintendent.
The other death was of Renu Gupta, who died Wednesday night.
Samrat's father has alleged that his son died due to the doctors' negligence.
The H1N1 viral has infected more than 2,000 people in the country. With the two Delhi deaths, the toll around India has gone up to 32.
