Patna, Aug 20 - A top police official in Bihar has been missing for the last seven months and all attempts to trace him have failed, official sources here said Thursday.

N.C. Dhondiyal, a police official of inspector-general rank, went missing soon after he was posted at Biscoman here early this year.

'No information about him is available with officials of Biscoman or the police headquarters,' an official said.

According to official sources, Dhondiyal has been missing since Feb 21. The police department had tried to trace him but failed.

The police headquarters is yet to initiate any action against him for long absence without permission.

However, the state home department has ordered that departmental action should be initiated against Dhondiyal.
