Ranchi, Aug 19 - Ten employees of a Hindalco plant in Jharkhand, abducted by a splinter group of the banned Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoists) two days ago, were freed Wednesday, police said.
'All the abducted employees and labourers of the Hindalco company were rescued after police exerted pressure on the rebels. They were abducted by the Sanjay Yadav group,' S.N. Pradhan, Jharkhand police spokesperson, told IANS.
Sanjay Yadav formed the Lal Tiger, a Maoist group, after breaking from the CPI-Maoist.
'Sanjay Yadav group had abducted the Hindalco employees for levy collection,' said Pradhan.
