Shimla, Aug 19 - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday said that the decision to expel senior party leader Jaswant Singh was right and there cannot be any compromise on party's ideology.
'We do not subscribe to the views expressed by Jaswant Singh on Jinnah and Sardar Patel. The decision to expel Singh was right and there will no compromise on party's ideology,' BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told reporters here.
The decision to expel the 71-year-old leader, who has held the portfolios of finance, defence and external affairs in the BJP-led governments, was taken by the party's parliamentary board at its meeting here Wednesday.
'The BJP's parliamentary board is the supreme authority and has the right to take such a decision,' said Javadekar.
