Bhubaneswar, Aug 18 - Orissa Tuesday reported two confirmed cases of swine flu - one from Cuttack and the other from Rourkela, said state Health Minister Prasanna Acharya here.
'Two people tested positive. The National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases at Kolkata, where the samples were sent, informed our health official over phone about it today (Tuesday),' the minister told reporters.
The samples from the patients who tested positive were drawn from one at Sriram Chandra Bhanja Medical College Hospital at Cuttack on Aug 13 and the other at Ispat General Hospital at Rourkela Aug 14, he said.
The state had sent samples from 27 patients for testing and has received the reports in 17 cases, of whom two tested positive. The other 15, however, tested negative, Acharya said.
