New Delhi, Aug 17 - Top seed Vishnu Vardhan of India overcame a late challenge from compatriot P.C. Vignesh, 6-2, 7-6 (2) to enter the second round of the $10,000 International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament at the DLTA complex here Monday.
In the other singles matches, Delhi's Ashutosh Singh beat Srirambalaji Narayanaswamy in a gruelling three-setter 7-5, 5-7, 6-2. Ashutosh next play the winner of the match between fourth-seed Rohan Gajjar and N.Prashanth.
South Korea's Seong-Yoon Chung outlasted Australian of Indian-origin Krishananth Balakrishnan 7-5, 3-6, 6-0.
