Shimla, Aug 17 - Himachal Pradesh has requested the central government to fully reimburse security-related expenditure and sought special funds for strengthening intelligence infrastructure, an official statement said Monday.

'State Forest Minister J.P. Nadda raised the issue of modernisation of police infrastructure during the Chief Ministers' Conference on internal security in New Delhi Monday. For this, the state demanded a central assistance of Rs.30 crore,' said the statement.

The conference was inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Nadda requested the central government to reimburse full amount on expenditure incurred on security-related infrastructure.

'The state is annually spending Rs.12 crore on security-related expenditure while the centre is providing an annual assistance of Rs.2.8 crore. We are demanding one-time enhancement of central assistance worth Rs.46 crore for modernisation of police force,' the statement said.

Himachal Pradesh shares over 1,100-km-long inter-state border with Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand and over 200 km of international border with China.
