Mumbai, Aug 14 - A key index of the Indian equities markets, which was trading in a seesaw pattern throughout Friday, was 87 points lower than its previous close about 90 minutes before the closing bell.
At 2.05 p.m., the 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 15,530.38 points, was trading at 15,431.12 points, down 87.37 points or 0.56 percent.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), too, was in the red at 4,584.65 points, down 0.44 percent.
Broader market indices were however holding up, with the BSE midcap index 0.09 percent higher, while the the BSE smallcap index was trading 0.76 percent up.
