Kolkata, Aug 13 - The total number of confirmed swine flu cases in West Bengal rose to 19 Thursday night, with six new cases during the day, officials said.
'We've received six fresh cases today. All of them have been admitted to the Beliaghata Infectious Diseases (ID) Hospital here,' Tapas Sen, the state's nodal officer for swine flu, told IANS.
The new patients included Rajesh Kumar Singh, a Jharkhand resident who had come here on personal work. Rajesh was suffering from fever, body ache and cough and cold for the past few days, and came to the hospital Wednesday and underwent the tests.
'We got his reports today. He has tested positive,' Sen said.
Singh had visited Mumbai, which is badly hit by swine flu, a few days back.
