Chandigarh, Aug 13 - Punjab may not have had any fatalities from swine-flu so far but the state's assembly speaker is in no mood to take any risk with the pandemic.
Punjab assembly speaker Nirmal Singh Kahlon Thursday ordered that all meetings of the Vidhan Sabha (Assembly) committees to be held outside Punjab be stopped immediately.
'The step has been taken with a view to swine flu danger,' a spokesman said on behalf of the speaker.
He further said that whenever the situation would become normal the speaker would permit these meetings to be held.
Punjab has so far had over 15 cases of swine flu.
