New Delhi, Aug 12 - National captain Bhaichung Bhutia Wednesday said that the All India Football Federation (AIFF) should quickly find a solution to his ongoing tussle with Mohun Bagan so that he could play freely in the Nehru Cup.

'It is a shame that I have been suspended for six months and that too for missing an exhibition match. I think the AIFF should find a quick solution to it so that I can play freely to defend our Nehru Cup title,' said Bhaichung after the team's training session at the Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon.

Bhaichung was slapped a six-month suspension notice by Mohun Bagan for missing practice sessions and an exhibition match.

The footballer then inked a one-year contract with East Bengal and has appealed to the AIFF's players' status committee.
