New Delhi, Aug 11 - Director Tarun Mansukhani's hit movie 'Dostana', a light-hearted take on homosexuality, will open the iView Film Festival starting Aug 28 in New York.
The director, who said to have brought homosexuality and gay talk out of the closet and into mainstream cinema with the film, will attend the festival along with actors John Abraham, Kirron Kher and Boman Irani.
Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra, who were also in the film, won't be able to join them due to their shooting commitments.
The three-day festival will be held at the world famous Lincoln Center and will also showcase other Indian films like veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal's critically acclaimed 1983 film 'Mandi', Rituparno Ghosh's 'Bariwali' starring Kirron Kher and Mira Nair's 'My Own Country'. While Zoya Akhtar's directorial debut 'Luck By Chance' will be the closing film of the festival.
