Vadodara, Aug 11 - A seven-year-old girl died of the H1N1 influenza at a government hospital in this Gujarat city early Tuesday, taking the toll of the viral disease in the country to 10.
'The girl had been under ventilation in the hospital for the past two days after being brought for treatment on Aug 7. The girl had no history of how she contracted the virus,' said Health Minister Jaynarayan Vyas, adding that she was a resident of Vadodara and had not travelled abroad.
The girl's health had been showing some signs of improvement Sunday but deteriorated Monday night, he added.
This is the second death reported in Gujarat on account of the swine flu. The first death was of NRI Pravin Patel who died in the government civil hospital on Sunday.
