Raipur, Aug 10 - Amidst allegation that security agencies lacked coordination to tacke the Maoist insurgency in Chhattisgarh, the state government Monday said central paramilitary forces and state police will launch close joint operations to crush Leftwing radicals.

The decision to this effect was taken at unified command meet of the state and central forces held here, which came against the backdrop of reports that lack of coordination among security agencies was affecting anti-Maoist operations.

The meeting chaired by Chief Minister Raman Singh had a detailed discussion on the lack of coordination among the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and state police.

'The widening rift between the CRPF and the state police force was comprehensively debated and now both forces have agreed to accept Raman Singh's advice that time has come now to act jointly and using each other's intelligence inputs to take the battle to Maoists heartland,' a top police officer who attended the meet told IANS.

Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar, Director General of Police Vishwaranjan, senior CRPF officials attended the meet.
