New Delhi, Aug 10 - The Congress Monday said the budget session of the 15th Lok Sabha that concluded last week was one of the most productive sessions of parliament.
'This was one of the most productive session of parliament,' Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi told reporters.
Singhvi also said that this session 'should become a role model for the future'.
Addressing a press conference here, Singhvi said the Rajya Sabha spent 13 percent more time than the schedule while the Lok Sabha spent four percent extra time discussing the budget proposals.
He said overall 81 hours were spent debating the budget instead of the average 59 hours that was usually allotted for it.
Praising the participation of MPs on different issues, Singhvi said: 'In the current session, we truly restored the parliamentary democracy.'
The session began July 2 and concluded Aug 7.
