Jammu, Aug 9 - Four students in Jammu and Kashmir were quarantined in a government hospital here Sunday after they showed swine flu symptoms, an official said.
These are the first suspected influenza A(H1N1) cases in the state where tourism season at its peak, it is feared, may be hit in case of the virus outbreak.
The students studying outside the state had come home for the summer break. They showed flu-like symptoms and have been admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu, hospital superintendent Ramesh Gupta said.
The suspected patients have been kept in isolation in different wards. 'The blood samples of these suspects have been sent to Delhi,' Gupta told reporters.
A special team of doctors has been formed to attend to such cases.
