New Delhi, Aug 9 - The privately run Sanskriti School here will be closed for a week after two of its students tested positive for swine flu, a teacher said Sunday.

The two students, from Class 4 and Class 11, were identified as patients Saturday. The school is located in south Delhi's diplomatic enclave Chanakyapuri.

Teacher Anjali Bali told IANS: 'After two of our students tested positive for swine flu, the school authorities consulted the doctors and decided to close it for a week. We have informed the parents.'

The school first sent SMSes to parents Saturday informing them about the two cases and asking them to await further instructions regarding its closure. On Sunday, parents were told that the school will be shut until Aug 17 as a precaution.

'We don't want the infection to spread in the school. It's best to nip the problem in the bud,' Bali said.

Earlier, a Class 6 girl of the school was suspected to be down with swine flu Thursday. The school then said it would remain closed till Monday. However, she tested negative for the virus Friday.

India has reported four deaths due to swine flu. Delhi has 179 confirmed cases of the viral infection.
