Lucknow, Aug 8 - In what may be the first case of swine flu in the Uttar Pradesh capital, a 27-year-old man was Saturday quarantined for suspected influenza A (H1N1) at the Balrampur hospital here.
Mohammad Aslam, who arrived from Oman at Lucknow's Amausi airport Saturday, was taken to the hospital after his symptoms showed the possibility of swine flu.
'The youth, who originally hails from Rae Bareli, works in Oman. His throat swab samples have been sent for testing at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS),' Lucknow Chief Medical Officer A.K. Shukla told reporters.
'At least for 24-36 hours, we will have to wait for the results,' he added.
An official said two students from Noida had become the state's first swine flu victims. They had been admitted to hospitals in New Delhi.
