New Delhi, Aug 7 - The Yadav trio - Lalu Prasad of the Rashriya Janata Dal (RJD), Mulayam Singh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party and Sharad Yadav of the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) - has created difficulties for the government, Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar told parliament Friday.
'Mulayam Singh Yadav, Sharad Yadav and Lalu Prasad Yadav are a trio. All three Yadavs have created difficulties for us,' said a candid Pawar in the Lok Sabha while replying to a discussion on the price rise.
The minister's comment came when Mulayam Singh Yadav and Lalu Prasad raised questions about the increased prices of life-saving medicines and buffer stocks of foodgrain.
'The questions asked by honourable members Laluji and Mulayamji are very much valid,' Pawar said.
Lalu quipped: 'That doesn't mean that we (Lalu and Mulayam) are competing (to ask questions).'
The minister assured the house that the government had sufficient stocks of wheat.
Pawar said the government was planning to hold a meeting of the chief ministers Aug 17 to discuss the rising prices of essential commodities.
