New Delhi, Aug 6 - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered 920 cases of disproportionate assets in the past 10 years but convictions were achieved only in 60 cases, parliament was told Thursday.

Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Prithviraj Chavan told the Rajya Sabha that charge sheets were filed in 529 cases and 60 cases resulted in convictions.

'A total of 139 cases of disproportionate assets are pending trial in various courts for more than ten years. And no such case is pending investigation for ten or more years,' he said.

Chavan said 30 special courts to exclusively try CBI cases have been set up all over the country for speedy disposal of the cases.
