Kolkata, Aug 6 - A Japanese national Thursday tested positive for the swine flu in the West Bengal capital, an official said.
Yuki Nakazawa, 22, was admitted to the Beliaghata Infectious Diseases (BID) Hospital Wednesday from a private hospital, said Tapas Sen, nodal health officer for the influenza A(H1N1).
The patient was earlier under treatment at the AMRI hospital for acute gastroenteritis.
His samples were sent to the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in New Delhi. 'We received information that he is positive Thursday morning,' Sen told IANS.
Another BID hospital patient Bahadur Firoze Shah tested positive for the swine flu.
