New Delhi, Aug 5 - Five Indians advanced to the quarterfinals of the $10,000 women's International Tennis Federation's (ITF) tournament at the DLTA complex here Wednesday.
Rishika Sunkara, Isha Lakhani, Parija Maloo, Sanaa Bhambri and Parul Goswami all booked their berth in the last eight.
Top seed Emily Webley Smith blacked out Indian wild card Adnya Naik 6-0, 6-0 in the second round. The Briton will next face Indian qualifier Rishika, who showed guts in taking out eighth-seeded Victoria Larriere of France 6-2, 6-3.
It was end of the road for second seeded Japanese Anastasia Malhotra, who went down to Slovakia's Dalila Jakupovic 7-5, 2-6, 6-3.
Jakupovic will meet seventh seed Alexandra Kolesnichenko, who defeated Indian Rashmi Teltumbde 6-2, 6-2.
Fifth seed Sanaa got the better of Rungtein Chutharat 6-3, 6-4. She will face Parul Goswami, who beat Ankita Raina 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.
Third seed Isha will clash with sixth seeded Parija.
Isha trounced Sheethal Goutham 6-3, 6-0 while Parija had a tough time overcoming Treta Bhattacharya 7-5, 2-6, 6-0.
