Ranchi, Aug 4 - The Jharkhand government has for the last three years been denying permission to the state vigilance department to lodge a complaint against a senior IAS official in a corruption case.
According to a senior vigilance department official, the department sought permission from the state government to lodge a First Information Report (FIR) against Alok Goel in June 2006 when Arjun Munda was Chief Minister of Jharkhand. However, seeking some clarifications, the state government returned the file.
'We sent the file again clarifying our stand and sought permission in August 2008. And the third reminder was sent to the state government in November 2008. Till now, we have not received permission to lodge an FIR against Alok Goel,' a senior official of the vigilance department told IANS.
