New Delhi, Aug 4 - The Lok Sabha was adjourned Tuesday following loud protests by Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs over the Pakistan Supreme Court's adjournment decision that effectively sets free Hafiz Saeed, the alleged mastermind of the Mumbai carnage.
On Monday, Pakistan's Supreme Court indefinitely adjourned the hearing of petitions challenging the release of the Jamaat ud Dawa (JuD) chief, who India claims is the mastermind of last year's terror attack in Mumbai.
Raising the issue during zero hour, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said 'we had trusted Pakistan, but the country has betrayed India'.
Mulayam Singh Yadav demanded a one-hour discussion in the house as well as a statement from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the matter.
He said India had the opportunity to corner Pakistan, already isolated in the international community, but the country had lost this opportunity and now Pakistan had changed its stand.
