New Delhi, Aug 3 - Second seed Anastasia Malhotra of Japan moved into the second round of the $10,000 women's International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Indian wildcard Nova Patel at the DLTA complex here Monday.
Anastasia, who made it to the semi-final of the last ITF here in June, awaits the winner of the match between Indian Sweta-Kumari Solankui and Slovak Dalila Jakupvic.
In the other first round matches, Rashmi Teltumbde beat wildcard Gopika Kapoor 6-2, 6-2 and next plays the winner of the match between seventh-seeded Uzbek Alexandra Kolesnichenko and French Elodie Rogge-Dietrich.
India's Treta Bhattacharya registered a fighting win over Jasmin Steinherr of Germany and will take on the winner of the clash between sixth-seeded Parija Maloo and Prerna Bhambri.
Indian wildcard Adnya Naik beat compatriot and lucky loser Anushree Thammanna 6-1, 6-3. Naik is next likely to meet top seed Emily Webley-Smith of Britain who plays Indian Abhilasha Ahuja in her first round match Tuesday.
