Ranchi, Aug 3 - Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials Monday raided the houses of senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officials who had served as aides to former Jharkhand governor Syed Sibte Razi.
According to CBI sources, the raids were conducted simultaneously at houses of Avinash Kumar, who was officer on special duty (OSD) to Razi after president's rule was imposed in the state January 2009; and Rajesh Thakur, who was Razi's personal secretary since he took over as governor in 2004.
CBI also raided the houses of builder Guddu Singh, considered close to Avinash Kumar, in Ranchi and Bokaro.
Razi was last month appointed governor of Assam and K. Sankarnarayan took charge here.
CBI sources said the raids were conducted after some complaints. The CBI has not come out with any official statement on the raids yet.
