New Delhi, July 29 - All-rounder Yusuf Pathan Wednesday denied making any statements on the omission of his younger brother Irfan Pathan from the list of 30-probables for the Champions Trophy. to be held in South Africa in September.
On Tuesday, Yusuf was quoted as saying in a daily that Irfan 'has not been left out because of his performance.'
In a statement WEdnesday, Yusuf said that he didn't make any comments on the selection matters or about Irfan's exclusion.
'The remarks attributed to me are totally baseless and wrong. I was asked to comment on the omission of Irfan Pathan from the Champions Trophy probables. To which I clearly said, 'It is not for me to comment on selection matters' and got up from the press conference,' said Yusuf in a statement.
'A couple of people came after me and kept repeating similar question and trying to put words into my mouth. Even here I said, 'I have nothing to say' and made an exit from the venue. I didn't make any comment on selection matters,' he said.
