Chennai, July 29 - The two best Indian hopes, top seed Dipika Pallikal and No.16 Anwesha Reddy, made it safely to the third round of the 13th Junior World squash championship here Wednesday.

Dipika, who has drawn a bye in the first round, had little difficulty in brushing aside Narasha Kingshott (US) in straight games while Anwesha, who also received a first round bye, dropped the second game before tightening up to oust Danielle Letourneau (Canada) in four.

Also advancing to the third round was Surbhi Misra who packed off 25th seed Lisa-Marie Sedlmeier of Germany in mere 18 minutes.

Meanwhile, in the boys' singles, the Indians fared rather poorly with only two of the 12 entries surviving the first round. Karan Malik chalked up a fluent win against Belgian Tom de Mulder in three games while Abhishek Pradhan needed over an hour to subdue Hong Kong's Fung Ngo Long in five games after trailing 1-2.

In the other results, the fancied players, including the top seeds, cruised into the next round with straightforward victories.
