Ranchi, July 10 - A Class 1 student was killed and six children injured when a truck rammed into a school bus here Friday morning.

According to police, the bus from Ranchi's Manan School first hit the divider of the road near Karmatoli locality. Sujan was peeping out of the window when a truck coming from the same direction hit the bus from the side. He died on the spot. Six students were also injured.

Angry people caught the driver of the truck and started beating him black and blue. The driver was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), Ranchi. The angry people also set the bus and truck on fire. Police had to resort to minor caning to disperse the mob.

Police officials said the driver was at fault. In order to make it to school on time, he was driving carelessly and hit the divider.
